Gerhard Vitalis Mellgren

Gerhard Vitalis Mellgren was born on 05 Jan 1882 in West Union as the third child of John L. Mellgren and Britta Stina Anderson. He had eleven siblings, namely: Anna Charlotte, Algot Levin, Anna Victoria, Lydia Eleonora, Florence Eleanor, Theodore Nathanael, Adolph Anskarius, Walter Edward, Esther Emelia, Gilbert George, and Clarence Filmore. He died on 21 May 1954 in Swedish Hospital Hennepin County, Minneapolis, Minnesota. When he was 35, he married Emma Victoria Anderson, daughter of Benjamin Anderson and Johanna Randahl (Olson), on 31 Dec 1917 in West Union Lutheran Church, Carver County, Minnesota.

 Gerhard Vitalis Mellgren was buried on 25 May 1954 in West Union Cemetery.

 

Emma Victoria (Anderson) Mellgren

Emma Victoria Anderson was born on 21 Jul 1883 in San Francisco Township, Carver County, Minnesota as the third child of Benjamin Anderson and Johanna Randahl (Olson). She had three siblings, namely: Johann Gottfrid, Estoria Elisabeth, and John Alvin. She died on 06 May 1977 at her home, West Union. When she was 34, she married Gerhard Vitalis Mellgren, son of John L. Mellgren and Britta Stina Anderson, on 31 Dec 1917 in West Union Lutheran Church, Carver County.

Emma Victoria Anderson was buried on 10 May 1977 in West Union Cemetery.

Gerhard Vitalis Mellgren and Emma Victoria Anderson had the following children:

  1. Lester Waldemor Vitalis Mellgren was born on 27 Mar 1919. He died on 08 Apr 2011. He married Ermay Emma Braun on 09 May 1941 in Salem Evangelical Church, Tyron Township, Minnesota.
  2. Lucille Cordelia Victoria Mellgren was born on 01 May 1920 in San Francisco Township. She died on 21 Feb 2006 at home, Cologne, Minnesota. She married Albert Herman Braun on 01 Nov 1941 in West Union Lutheran Church, Carver, Minnesota.
  3. Bernice May Emelia Mellgren was born on 10 Oct 1921 in San Francisco Township. MN. She died on 05 May 2009 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
  4. Lorraine Johanna Mellgren was born on 11 Dec 1924. She died on 28 Jan 2012 in Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota. She married Kenneth Eugene Bird on 06 Sep 1952 in Augustana Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
  5. LeRoy Johannes Mellgren was born on 11 Dec 1924 in San Francisco Township. He died on 02 Aug 2005 in Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia, Minnesota. He married Myrna Fay Gustafson on 14 Feb 1959 in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
