Andrew Peter (Anderson) Felt

Andrew Peter Anderson Felt was born on 19 May 1847 as the sixth child of Anders Persson and Ingeborg Ephraimsdotter in Rakåsa Mellomgården, Fölene, Älvsborgs lån, Västergötland, Sweden. He had six siblings, namely: Lasse, Johanna, Samuel, Benjamin, Maja-Stina, and Britta Stina. He died on 12 Nov 1931 in Carver County, MN. When he was 28, he married Christina Maria Wänquist, daughter of Lars Johnson and Johana Maria Andersdotter, on 26 Jan 1876 in Carver CO, MN.

Andrew Peter Anderson Felt emigrated with his parents in 1860. He was buried on 15 Nov 1931 in West Union Cemetery.

Christina Maria Wänquist

Christina Maria Wänquist was born on 11 Jul 1858 in San Francisco Twsp, MN as the fourth child of Lars Johnson and Johana Maria Andersdotter. She had four siblings, namely: Britta, Swante, Anders Petter, and Swante. She died on 10 Feb 1922 in Carver County, MN. When she was 17, she married Andrew Peter Anderson Felt, son of Anders Persson and Ingeborg Ephraimsdotter, on 26 Jan 1876 in Carver CO, MN.

Christina Maria Wänquist was buried on 14 Feb 1922 in West Union Cemetery.

Walfred Andrew Felt was born on 15 Jan 1890 in San Francisco Twsp, MN. He died on 13 Jun 1984 in Waconia, MN. He married Edith Christina Lund on 29 Dec 1914. He married (Anna) Florence Erickson on 12 Jun 1923.
Emil Edwin Felt was born on 01 Oct 1892. He died on 22 Sep 1972. He married Evelyn Lund on 08 Apr 1920.
Johan Eddgar Wiktar Felt was born on 20 Dec 1895 in West Union. He died on 26 Feb 1912 in St. Joseph’s Hosp. St. Paul.

Andrew Peter or A. P. was the youngest and 13 when they immigrated. He married Christina Maria Wänquist, and they lived here in Carver County. This picture shows his blacksmith shop which was on his farm, and you can see he had his name carved above the door. He fixed machinery, horse harnesses and horseshoes here. You may have heard how A.P. came to change his name to Felt. The story we have is when picking up mail one day he decided there were too many Andersons and mail was getting mixed up. When asked what he wanted to change his name to, he looked down at his felt lined boots and said ‘Felt’.
